Case study, sheet 20 of 20

An event space inquiries site the team can run themselves

Day to day with event space inquiries, the site now comes with its own instructions for keeping it. Cover arrangements are a matter of reading a document, not interviewing former staff.

Existing conditions

What the venue had before

On a plan, what is already there is drawn dashed and what is new is drawn solid. This is the dashed part: how village hall hire and events space handled it before the work started.

  1. The starting point

An earlier project had delivered a site and then vanished. Every question about updating event space inquiries content depended on reaching someone who no longer worked on it.

  2. Where it went wrong

For event space inquiries, approval routes, update procedures and test steps existed in no written form. When the usual contact was away, the site simply froze.

New work

What we built

The handover includes a page inventory, update instructions, a contact list and a brief check of the route to an availability discussion with the venue team. It names an owner and a backup reviewer for room capacities and the weather contingency plan.

Client note
Launch-day me was grateful for the event space inquiries pages. Vacation-returning me was grateful for the documentation. The second gratitude lasts longer.
