Case study, sheet 15 of 20

Migrating event space inquiries without breaking the past

With event space inquiries, visitors following years-old links land somewhere useful.

Existing conditions

What the venue had before

On a plan, what is already there is drawn dashed and what is new is drawn solid. This is the dashed part: how theater foyer and studio hire venue handled it before the work started.

  1. The starting point

Years of sharing had embedded the old event space inquiries addresses in emails, leaflets and directories. The planned rebuild would move most of them.

  2. Where it went wrong

When it comes to event space inquiries, every unmoved address was a dead end waiting for a returning visitor. Without an inventory, the risk could not even be sized.

New work

What we built

The team cataloged the old addresses, assigned each one a relevant new destination and reviewed the full mapping before launch. The new reference page covers room capacities and the weather contingency plan, with navigation labels matching the revised structure.

Client note
They mapped our legacy event space inquiries addresses before touching the design. That ordering told me they understood what a rebuild risks.
