Case study, sheet 16 of 20

Orderly updates for event space inquiries content

Day to day with event space inquiries, one recorded version connects the requester, the approver and the publisher. Routine edits stop generating clarification chains.

Existing conditions

What the venue had before

On a plan, what is already there is drawn dashed and what is new is drawn solid. This is the dashed part: how sports club function rooms handled it before the work started.

  1. The starting point

The event space inquiries page changed via hallway conversations and vague emails. What exactly to replace was left to the publisher's interpretation.

  2. Where it went wrong

For event space inquiries, request, approval and publication were three separate versions of the same change, reconciled by memory.

New work

What we built

Each change request captures the page, existing text, new text and approver in one short record. Updates touching room capacities and the weather contingency plan go through the identical review before anything goes live.

Client note
When something about event space inquiries changes, I want to see the exact wording before it goes up. The approval process is that simple now.
