Answers about event space inquiries, written down once

With event space inquiries, the FAQ now serves visitors and staff as the same reference. Routine explanations are handled by the page, while decisions that need judgment stay with the people qualified to make them.

What the venue had before

On a plan, what is already there is drawn dashed and what is new is drawn solid. This is the dashed part: how waterfront events venue handled it before the work started.

  1. The starting point

Every event space inquiries question was answered fresh each time. The quality of the answer depended on who was asked and when.

  2. Where it went wrong

When it comes to event space inquiries, useful explanations sat scattered across archived threads. Training a new hire meant shadowing calls, and customers had to phone for details a page could have covered.

New work

What we built

The recurring questions about room capacities and the weather contingency plan were collected into a maintained FAQ. The owner of each subject reviewed its answers, and questions needing personal advice are directed to a conversation.
